DESCRIPTION Michels Canada is currently searching for a dedicated B Pressure welder with current SAW ticket ( submerged arc welding) Welder to join our team! The Welder will be responsible for completing coupons for an ABSA Welding Certification. In this role you, your expertise will contribute to development of SAW welding procedures. This position will be based in Edmonton, AB. This is a short-term position for 1 week. RESPONSIBILITIES Maintain and promote a strong safety culture for all employees, vendors, and customers and follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations. As required, maintain accurate records of daily activities, including production reports and safety documentation. Obtain and maintain Flux core arc welding ticket (FCAW process) Obtain and maintain Semi-automatic submerged arc welding ticket (SAW process) Obtain and maintain Shielded metal arc welding tickets (SMAW) Must be able to work under minimal supervision. Must have positive attitude and able to work with rest of the crew and take direction and instruction from Superintendent and Project Supervision. Assists other employees when required. Will experience repetitive tasks all day such as sitting, standing, twisting, kneeling, crawling, walking, using ladders, bending in awkward positions etc. Work will be labor intensive throughout shift. Must be able to perform all work duties without any restrictions or limitations. Regularly lift and/or move 50 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 55 pounds. Must be willing and able to assist or perform with other duties as assigned. Other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS Journeyperson Welder Certification B Pressure Certification SAW (submerged arc welding) Certification FCAW (flux core arc welding) Certification SMAW (shielded metal arc welding) Must have reliable transportation to and from job site. DESIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS Experience and current CWB tickets an asset Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to build strong relationships with team members and project stakeholders. REQUIRED SAFETY TICKETS CSTS WHMIS Confined Space Entry & Monitor Confined Space Entry & Rescue Fall Protection Rigging LANGUAGES Must be able to communicate verbally and through written language (by hand and digitally) in English.
