The Opportunity The Ward Clerk performs a variety of reception and clerical duties required for the efficient operation of the unit. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: data entry, including database entry; ordering and maintaining supplies; required transport functions; answering phones. Hours of Work 10.5 hour shifts; 0700- 1900 or 1900–0700 Your Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Graduate from a recognized Office Administration Program preferred. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other computer programs/technology (testing may be conducted on shortlisted candidates). Knowledge of SAP an asset. Knowledge of medical terminology an asset. Knowledge of Meditech preferred. Keyboarding skills minimum of 40 wpm required, 60 wpm is preferred (testing may be conducted on shortlisted candidates). Data entry skills required. Proven team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills required. Demonstrated ability to respectfully work with a variety of inter-professional team members required. High degree of initiative, diligence, attention to detail, and self-discipline/focus. Commitment to continual learning and willing to share knowledge and support the development of co-workers. Demonstrated commitment to Family Centred Care required. Excellent multi-tasking, organizational and prioritization skills required. Competencies in other languages an asset. Thank you for your interest in IWK Health.
