The Opportunity The Study Participant Engagement Coordinator is responsible for supporting internal and external communications, with a focus on social media management, outreach, and recruitment activities, and content creation (website and social media). This includes but is not limited to assisting with the development and implementation of communications materials, participation on committees, research communications support (publicity and media), and the Study Participant Engagement Coordinator is responsible for the creation of content such as internal/external newsletters, blog posts, and social media posts, as well as assisting with media and public relations as overseen by the Challenge Unit Manager. Responsibilities: External communications Support the development of external communications strategies and plans. Develop, monitor, and evaluate a social media strategy in alignment with the vision of the Challenge Unit. Advise the Recruitment Team and the Challenge Unit Manager on external communications issues and opportunities. Assist with the development of Challenge Unit communication products. Draft and post social media and web content according to the recruitment strategy, with oversight from the Challenge Unit Manager. Develop and implement evaluation KPIs for content and campaigns. Internal Communications Prepare internal communications for staff involved in recruiting and provide feedback on strategies to the Challenge Unit Manager. Build an internal communications strategy that supports participant engagement. Hours of Work Monday - Friday, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm, 7.5 hours shift Your Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or diploma education in Public Relations, Communications, or other related education (a combination of experience and other undergraduate degree may be considered). Excellent interpersonal skills and experience: able to establish and maintain positive working relationships with others, both internally and externally. Strong knowledge of and demonstrated prior use of various social media platforms and trends (including, but not limited to, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Snapchat); Proven history of creating social media campaigns, either personally or professionally and the ability to analyze user engagement. Experience with visual media creation applications/software considered an asset. Excellent communication skills: able to speak, listen, and write in a clear manner using appropriate and effective communication tools and techniques. Experience writing and editing various communications material: able to produce high quality written work (reports, special projects, correspondence). Able to work cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problems and make decisions. Effective time management and decision-making ability to set priorities based on deadlines (both internal and external); demonstrated capacity to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision. Highly resourceful and adaptable with problem-solving. Organization and planning skills, including developing a work schedule, monitoring progress towards goals, and tracking details, data, information, and activities. Able to work successfully both independently and within a team. Strong attention to detail. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, MS Project) required. Interest in or experience in STEM or Post-Secondary Education considered an asset. Thank you for your interest in IWK Health.
