Position Overview Responsibilities include the safe and environmentally responsible production, testing and manufacturing of products within prescribed quality specification ranges. Participate in safety, environmental, quality and production programs and audits of the plant. Understands and troubleshoots equipment; participates in housekeeping, maintenance, and equipment preparation activities Job Responsibilities The operator of the urea-formaldehyde resin manufacturing process is required to perform the following tasks during his working day. Follows all EHS and factory requirements. Maintain a clean and safe work area. Carry out inspection checks of the mixing container of the different chemical components. Maintain a commitment to safety by preventing illness, injury and advocating for environmental protection. Wear the PPE prescribed for the task at hand. Including, but not limited to, hard hats, steel toe shoes, goggles, and respirators. Operate manufacturing process control equipment and perform operational requirements such as truck loading and unloading. Use of forklift. Issue and monitor safe work, hot work and confined space permits. Monitor, track and record operating conditions. Follow procedures to produce a quality-compliant product. Maintain accurate material inventories. Other assigned tasks. Minimum Qualifications High school or GED completed College diploma in a echnical discipline preferred Relevant experience in the general industrial or chemical manufacturing industry of 2 years preferred Basic command of the English language Good communication skills. Ability to perform / solve mathematical problems. Forklift operating experience or ability to obtain forklift certification. Must work well with others and function in a team environment. Ability to work independently Great attention to detail Have troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude. Ability to use a computer effectively. Knowledge of the Microsoft application suite. Knowledge of SAP is an asset. Ability to read, develop and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating SOPs, maintenance instructions, manuals and diagrams or Preferred Qualifications Physical: walking, sitting, climbing, balancing, twisting, reaching, kneeling, reaching, manipulating, fingering, speaking, hearing, seeing. Up and down stairs every day. Aptitudes: intelligence, verbal, numerical, motor coordination and familiarity with traffic functions and tmd regulations. Work in all weather conditions. You may need to wear a respirator for confined spaces and similar activities and we cannot allow facial hair. Ability to accept responsibility, to adapt to the situation involving interpretations of information or facts; evaluate and decide on the course of action, perform repetitive work; perform tasks under tension; adapt to situations requiring precision and adapt to changing tasks and responsibilities. Attention to detail, sitting and monitoring activities on a computer screen. Ability to communicate information to others regarding production, quality, EHS items. Ability to work a rotating shift schedule. The diverse work involves other movements such as climbing tanks by a ladder, carrying equipment, using heavy tools, attaching harnesses, and working at heights. Perform repetitive tasks inside tanks using shovels and scrapers. Report Fit for Duty Other If currently an employee of the Company, you must have current satisfactory work performance and in most cases, have been in your current role for 18 months.
