Students develop their own work through written assignments, in-class exercises, and a final public presentation. Estimated course enrollment: 16 students Estimated TA support: N/A Schedule: Tues 6pm-9pm; tutorial Tues 9pm-10pm Sessional dates: September 1, 2024 to December 31, 2024 Salary: Sessional Lecturer I $9,457.90 Sessional Lecturer I Long Term $9,930.79 Sessional Lecturer II $10,121.77 Sessional Lecturer II Long Term $10,326.62 Sessional Lecturer III $10,362.76 Sessional Lecturer III Long Term $10,570.02 Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail. Minimum Qualifications: A degree in Theatre Studies required. Minimum 5 years professional experience in direction, dramaturgy and/or playwriting/writing for the stage. Closely involved in new work produced over the past 5 years. Evidence of recent teaching effectiveness at a recognized theatre school or university. Preferred Qualifications: Membership in the Playwrights Guild of Canada Description of Duties: Developing a course syllabus, planning and delivering lectures, designing assignments, tests and examinations, grading, managing course content and grades on Quercus & CIS, holding office hours, invigilating tests and exams (if applicable).
