As a Behaviour Interventionist (BI) at Monarch House your primary responsibility is implementing programs designed and supervised by a senior clinical team (of speech pathologists, by a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst® BCBAs, Occupational therapists and physical therapists) to clients receiving services from Monarch House. You will work within an interdisciplinary team to support skill acquisition and/or decrease maladaptive behaviors while providing an engaging and positive client experience in a fast paced and frequently changing environment. Job Type: Part-Time Hourly Salary : starting at $21.00/Hour Availability Needed: evenings/weekends/daytime Start Date: ASAP Take an inside look at what you will do each day: Responsible for implementing programs based on best practices. Uses systematic methods and behavioural strategies to support clients in reaching their goals Contributes to the development of programs established by the clinical team to teach and reinforce a variety of skills for children and youth in a 1:1 and/or small group setting Understand the functions of behavior and responds appropriately and safely when situations arise Adhere to all clinical training, procedures, and protocols Ability to adapt to changing conditions and/or routine and provide creative solutions Responsible for creating a positive and engaging environment for the client Support clients with personal care tasks such as dressing, toileting, and eating Here is what you will need to be successful 1-2 years experience working with children and youth with complex needs and/or developmental disabilities Education and demonstrated ability in ethical and professional practice Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening within the last 6 months A reliable vehicle and and driver's license Strong verbal and written English communication skills Preferred Qualifications Minimum 1 year experience working in client homes is a plus Enrollment in or degree from a post-secondary program of Psychology, Educational Psychology, Special Education or another related field is an asset Pursuing or completed education in Psychology, Speech or linguistics, occupational therapy or kinesiology.
