About This Opportunity Dr. David Wood is seeking a family physician to Locum, covering a leave from May 6 – 31st, 2024. This is a solo family practice in a highly desirable downtown location. This opportunity would be full time, Monday to Friday. This clinic sees mainly geriatric patients. If interested, there is also opportunity to connect with the Geriatric Restorative Care unit at the nearby Veterans Memorial Building (to be discussed with Dr. Wood). Responsibilities Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Examine patients and take their histories, order diagnostic tests and laboratory procedures; advise patients on health care, health promotion, and disease prevention Consultation and referral to other medical practitioners’ Act as a patient’s advocate Prescribe and administer medications and treatments, inoculations and vaccinations Report births, deaths, contagious and other diseases as per Nova Scotia Public Health requirements Expected Hours Full time hours during locum. Qualifications Eligible for Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS) Eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) Community Details Halifax, the largest urban area in Atlantic Canada and Nova Scotia's capital city, sits in the center of Nova Scotia's east coast and is an important seaport that looks out over one of the world's largest natural harbors.
