About the Opportunity Reporting to the Health Services Director, Heart Health Portfolio, the Health Services Manager is responsible for the planning and coordination of Heart Health Ambulatory Clinics and the daily operations of client-centred programs and services within and external to the Nova Scotia Health Authority. Essential components of this position include a high degree of expertise in decision making, creativity, interpersonal skills, professional development and informational roles to perform a wide variety of technical, human, conceptual, leadership and financial management functions and behaviours. This manager is responsible for all clinics within Cardiology/Cardiac and Vascular Surgery. Promoting and emphasizing person-centred care in partnership with the patient, family, and health care team. Critically evaluating service delivery and identifying creative opportunities to leverage skill set and capacity of team to optimize clinical impact and outcomes. Developing, implementing and maintaining an active human resource plan including recruitment, selection, interviewing and hiring. Preparing and analyzing all relevant financial and clinical data, report trends and identify where corrective action is required for budget variances, as well as implementing changes as required and evaluates the effectiveness of the changes. Planning and managing outcome and process improvements for quality patient care. Representing professional discipline or service/program by active and effective participation in meetings and on committees. Establishing and maintaining creative and efficient communication processes across clinical teams, geographically different sites, other disciplines, and other stakeholders within NSH as required. About You We would love to hear from you if you have the following: Baccalaureate Degree in a health-related field is required. Equivalent experience and/ or alternative education or leadership experience in healthcare may be considered Current registration with the appropriate licensing body of Nova Scotia is required. Master’s degree an asset. 5 to 7 years of relevant clinical experience required. Previous leadership/management experience an asset. Experience and expertise in process planning and redesign work. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of evidence-based practices within Heart Health Ambulatory Care. Requires a high level of sound judgment, initiative, and self-direction. Demonstrates high degree of independent decision-making, motivation, creativity, flexibility, adaptability, and change management knowledge. Exhibits analytical thinking as well as creative problem-solving ability and willingness to consider uncharted or novel ideas related to trends and changes in health care. Proven and highly developed leadership skills including vision, self-awareness, relationship, and team building skills, and communication skills. Demonstrated self-motivation, self-direction, leadership, team development, organizational and facilitation skills. Ability to analyze and interpret statistical data and monitor quality and performance indicators and benchmarks. Being aware of the interdependence of organizational systems and stakeholders and considering the impact on people, processes, and services. Demonstrates the leadership capabilities that encompass the LEADS in a Caring Environment Framework as asset.
