As a student at PCL, you will get the opportunity for challenging work assignments in a supportive work environment which promotes personal and professional growth. We are seeking a Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Administrative Student, for our Calgary district, within our Canadian Buildings Division that is available for 3-4 months starting in Summer 2024 to work on one of our Civil project sites in Sparwood, BC. As an HSE Administrative Student, you will contribute to our team by: Responsibilities Managing HSE documents (i.e. data entry, updating tracking spreadsheets and distributing to key parties, SMC entries, taking/distributing minutes, filing, printing/distribution of WHA, etc.) Scheduling HSE orientation presentations for new employees and preparing orientation materials and JSA badges for visitors Reviewing paperwork and providing feedback on trends (i.e. PSI, tailgate meetings, safe-work procedure, trend analysis, incident investigations) Gathering, reviewing, and analyzing safety-related statistics, site-specific trends, incidents, and report findings Distributing final reports to HSE team and district office Assisting with interpretation, communication, and reinforcement of project-specific safety standards to workforce employees Adhering to PCL and provincial legislative requirements Additional support and duties, as required. Qualifications Must be willing to work in a remote location in Sparwood, BC. Must be proficient on the computer and have intermediate skills in MS software (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Superior organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. Flexible, enthusiastic and energetic. Able to work with a diverse workforce and interact professionally with all levels of the organization. Able to work with limited supervision in a team environment. Willingness to learn and undertake new challenges. Adaptable and able to work effectively in a fast paced and rapidly changing environment.
