Pictou County has established practices including the Westville Medical Clinic, and traditional family medicine practices in Stellarton, New Glasgow, and Pictou. There is also a unique opportunity to partner with Pictou Landing First Nation Health Centre to help address the healthcare needs of our First Nations community. These practices utilize an electronic medical record (EMR) and are well supported by hospital staff and services. Physicians can also refer patients to the One Door Chronic Disease Management Centre. There are independant and collaborative practices available. Responsibilities participate in on call shifts provide inpatient care Expected Hours full time, part time 37.5 hours per week 46 weeks per year four weeks vacation two weeks Continuing Medical Education (CME) Qualifications all applicants must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS) all family physicians must be eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) Community Details Pictou County was established in 1835, it includes the towns of New Glasgow , Stellarton , Pictou , Westville and Trenton .
