We have an exciting opportunity to lead a fun team within Advanced Transportation focused on the manufacture of industry-leading hydrogen vehicle fueling stations. Powertech has already helped put fuel cell vehicles on the road – we need you to help us put the fueling infrastructure in place. Duties: Provides project leadership through planning, organizing and undertaking applied electrical testing and research projects; develops and writes reports incorporating conclusions; designs and sets up experimental equipment or rigs; designs components, calibrates, maintains and troubleshoots laboratory apparatus and equipment. Provides consulting services on matters such as explaining intent of specifications, problem solving, product substitutions and job sequencing, operational or equipment design constraints affecting job quality. Develops and writes job instruction manuals and Powertech job specifications. Performs administrative support functions such as budget preparation, variance reviews, planning workflow, recommending and overseeing repair procedures and organizing work with other areas of Powertech. Liaises with others within the industry to secure future work for Powertech; discusses negotiates and commits to costs and time involved in testing. Designs, modifies and adapts novel equipment to perform new or unusual tests; conducts, commissions and accepts new equipment or apparatus. May be required to act as a work/laboratory leader and perform the same duties as one or more technologists/technicians. Performs duties of a minor nature related to the above duties which do not affect the rating of the job. This includes the performance of duties across disciplines in a job of the same or lower job group. Qualifications: * National Diploma of Technology from an Institute of Technology in Electronics (power/control option), Electrical, Power, Telecommunications, Instrumentation or Automation disciplines with preference given to the discipline directly relating to the position or lab.* Minimum of eight (8) years of related experience required. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology discipline is preferred.Preferred candidate will have these experience and skillsets: technical knowledge in installation, commissioning of transmission, substation equipment and protective devices project management principles familiarity with plant equipment such as transmitters, switches, analyzers, PLC’s, control valves, medium and low voltage systems safe operation of hydrogen equipment and infrastructure test equipment calibration & associated records Ability to read and interpret drawings, procedures, and P&IDs Ability to understand electrical wiring schematics. Highly skilled in mechanical systems installation, troubleshooting, and repair. Must be able to operate independently with minimal supervision while achieving high quality results in work assignments. Industrial gas systems experience highly preferred.
