Job Description Do you love to cook? Are you passionate about food? We are seeking Cooks to join the celebrated Food Services team at Labrador West Health Center. As a Cook at LWHC you’ll help bring recipes to life! Surrounded by fresh ingredients and the best equipment, you’ll be immersed in a world that goes beyond food preparation – bringing joy to the lives of the patients, their families, and the staff of LWHC. These are part-time union position with the United Steelworkers of America. While these positions are part-time, there is an opportunity to earn full-time hours on a regular bases. Job Responsibilities Cooks and prepare a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes Sets up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment Prepares ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items Operates equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers, etc. Properly stores food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures Cleans and sanitizes work areas, equipment, and utensils Maintains excellent customer service and positive demeanor towards guests, customers, clients, co-workers, etc. Adheres to Aramark safety policies and procedures including accurate food safety and sanitation Works closely with Dietitian/Food Service Manager, Food Service Supervisor and health care team to ensure accurate patient nutrition Maintains the privacy, safety, and dignity of each customer by observing client confidentiality and by closely adhering to safety and sanitation standards Qualifications 2+ years experience as a Line, Grill, Short Order Cook required Excellent customer service skills Ability to work independently or as a part of a team Flexible; evening and weekend work may be required This position comes with the opportunity to have medical and dental benefits, paid vacation, paid sick time, employee meal plan, complimentary uniforms and non-slip safety shoes, up to 50% reimbursement on education (ex: Red Seal Certification), and more!
