Job Description Controller of Operations JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Controller of Operations Provide oversight with accounting team members to manage completion of accounting cycle checklist and deadlines; Manage all aspects of Yardi system (accounting, property management, construction, system administration and consolidation module); Produce Quarterly NOI consolidated inhouse reports; Prepare portfolio reporting, leasing, and capital expenditures; Coding expenditures for property; Contribute to the training and mentoring of other Accountants; Provide vacation coverage for the other Accountants or Controllers; Review and approve A/P batches as they relate to materiality; Review and approve online bill payments; Review and approve Commercial Accountants accounting system entries; Setup new buildings, units and GLA changes to commercial lease tenancies in the accounting system; Review and approve setup of lease tenancies in the accounting system and packages for release; Balance and oversee training and review of accounts receivable statements of accounts, aged reporting and rent pulls; Contribute to the consolidated monthly/quarterly/annual executive portfolio summary; Contribute to the planning and completion of annual operating cost recoveries, including the review of files prepared by the Commercial Property Accountants; Contribute to and prepare the planning and completion of annual forecasting and budgets including leasing, capital & operations as well as the review of files prepared by the Commercial Property Accountants; Contribute to process improvements and implementation projects as required; Assist with various ad hoc accounting tasks as requested by senior management; Foster a strong working relationship with all team members, to ensure the operational and corporate goals of the organization are being met to the best of the abilities of the accounting group as a whole; Planning, organizing, and coordinating the year-end close process with internal Controller; Providing management with information vital to the decision-making process; Proactive completion of external reports to our stake holders; Assessing current accounting operations, improvement and implementing new processes; Developing and monitoring business performance metrics; Training, mentoring, and retaining competent commercial accounting team staff; Vehicle and equipment insurance and acquisitions. Additional duties may be added as required or assigned. REQUIREMENTS 1 – 3 years’ experience as a Controller CPA designation preferred Yardi system experience Maintain strict confidentiality, discretion, and professionalism Criminal records check, credit check and reference check REPORTS TO Director of Finance JOB TYPE Permanent full-time position WAGE $100,000 - $130,000 per annum LOCATION Suite 300, 1060 Manhattan Drive Powered by JazzHR
