As our growth creates new career opportunities, likely there is the right one for you! Terus Construction a division of Colas Western Canada Inc, is seeking an Asphalt Plant Groundperson. This position is based in Crescent Valley, BC. Duties/Tasks Safely unload hot oil form the delivery trucks. Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment. Operate front end loader, skid steer or other heavy equipment. Inspect and grease asphalt conveyors, and ensure equipment is functioning properly. Shovel asphalt and other plant materials. Responsible for plant production of materials, and ensures the efficient working condition of the plant. Inspect and grease asphalt conveyors, and ensure equipment is functioning properly. Ensure the timely delivery of oil, fuel, aggregates and supplies to the plant. Assists with stockpiling materials and feed the plant from the stockpiles in an efficient and productive manner. Operate front end loader, skid steer or other heavy equipment. Perform set up and take down of plants at different job sites as required. Perform other related duties as required. Requirements Minimum 2 to 3 years’ experience within the road construction industry 1 to 2 years as an Asphalt Plant Labourer, preferred. Valid class 5 driver’s license and clean current drivers abstract. Basic knowledge of mechanics and equipment repair.
