The Opportunity The Administrative Assistant II (AAII) provides high-quality administrative, secretarial, and organizational support to the direct clinical manager, staff, and the Simulation Program. The AAII is vital to the efficient operation and work of the Learning and Development Team and is able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. The Administrative Assistant II is able to function independently prioritizing and dealing with time constraints and multi-tasks without sacrificing accuracy and attention to detail. The AAII is supportive of IWK Health's commitment to Family Centred Care by ensuring a welcoming environment is provided to the patients and families we serve. Hours of Work Monday to Friday Your Qualifications Minimum of a High School diploma or G.E.D. required. Graduate of a recognized Office Administration Program required. Minimum six (6) months experience in a related administrative/secretarial role required. A combination of equivalent education and experience may be considered. Administrative experience in a healthcare environment preferred. Advance working knowledge of MS Office programs required. Minimum keyboarding speed of 60 wpm required. (Testing may be conducted on candidates). Experience in MEDITECH preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology as an asset. Demonstrated initiative, self-motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision required. Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail. Proven attention to detail, excellent organization, prioritization, and analytical skills required. Excellent judgment, diplomacy, and discretion in handling confidential and/or sensitive materials is essential. Team player with strong interpersonal skills and flexibility in meeting workload demands. Competencies in other languages are an asset. Thank you for your interest in IWK Health.
