Hello, My name is Basmati and here is a little info about me:Breed: Spitz/Terrier mixAge: 3 years oldGender: Male, neuteredWeight: 17 lbsHeight: 11 in I was owned by a horrible man that was running a puppy mill in Middle East. When I was rescued, I was in a tiny cage dirty and injured. I had an infected cut on my neck, maybe from a rope or chain around my neck... I try not to remember! My injery is fully healed now but I'm missing some hair on my neck. The good News; it's all growing back! In fact you might not even notice it by the time I get to come here. I didn't let my horrible past stop me from being a happy and loving boy. I greet people with a wagging tail, I'm a little shy but I get comfortable with new people quickly after you give me a treat. I crave and enjoy love and attention from humans. I'm good with other dogs and I live with many of them in a foster home in Middle East. I am a very submissive little guy, sometimes other dogs bully me but I don't do anything back, not even a growl. I am a happy go lucky boy, with moderate energy level. After a walk or hike I like to cuddle and watch movies with humans. I'm almost fully house-trained and my coat is low maintenance but sheds a little. I like to be loved for the rest of my life and have a home, please adopt me. I can arrive to Vancouer soon if I have an adopter! Energy Level: Moderate/low. Basic training should be taken seriously but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if the dog is shown to be good with children we will approve homes with children 8 years or older. Bordetella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East.##1961734##Adoption processWe offer a foster to adopt program for adopters of overseas dogs. As they will be taking their dog home straight from the airport, they have a couple of weeks to decide if the dog is a fit. In the rare times the dog isn’t found suitable we will find the dog another home.
