Adopt Sougy (local, bn) a Tan/Yellow/Fawn Anatolian Shepherd dog in Langley

Location:
Langley, BC
Description:

Hi there, kind hoomans. My name is Sougy and here is a little info about me:Breed: Anatolian Shephard mixAge: 7 yearsGender: FemaleWeight: 28 kgHeight: 65 cm (ground to shoulder) Although I had a rough start in life, I have finally made it over to Vancouver and am loving it here! My favourite thing? Rolling in the grass! I may walk slow, but I love to sniff and explore luxuriously at my own pace. I love the great outdoors! Consider me the perfect picnic companion ;-) Here's a little bit of my history: I was found in a village 2 years ago. As you can see from my video, my front legs were crooked, and it was so painful to walk. I could only walk a few steps and then I had to lie down. Luckily for me, I was rescued and brought to a shelter. My rescuers took me to a vet, and I had two surgeries to try and straighten my legs. As you can see, my front legs are sooo much better, but I still can’t walk like other dogs. I don’t mind, as I’m just so happy someone chose to take care of me.I’m a shy dog, but when I get to know someone I am cuddly and affectionate. While I tend to keep my distance, I love people and attention. I'm very easy going with other dogs and was great at being a 'nanny' for my younger foster sibling. I am used to living with other dogs, but I’m fine being your one and only. There are no cats here, so I don’t know how we would get along together. I love kids and I'm very kind and gentle towards them.My foster parents have have been amazed at how fast I have adapted to life in Canada such a short amount of time. Also, my walking has already improved much since my first day over here. Update: I had my final leg operation 2 weeks ago and recovering very well. At least the pins and plates that were causing me some discomfort were removed and now I am good to go! My perfect home would have nice fenced-in backyard where I would just love to hang out and explore the whole day. I also love cuddles and belly rubs - I'm a real snuggle snoopy! https://youtube.com/watch?v=lL14kUp-GDw https://youtu.be/6VYkKCsvTq0 https://youtu.be/Piam4EK1p20 Energy Level: Med to lowI get along with:Dogs: yesCats: unknown Kids: yesPrey drive: unknown/not observed. My adopter needs to be willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise.Fears: none observed. Please be patient assisting me in my transitionTraining: noneLeash skills: no... Please be prepared to train me House trained: Yes. I am very polite inside the house and have no trouble doing my business outside.I have been spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. My adoption fee is $750.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dogarrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case anyproblematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so makesure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems. Basic trainingshould be taken seriously but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple ofweeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home check out trainingcourses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have ahuge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with theadded benefit of strengthening their bond with you. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website,http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Informationincluded in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does nothave access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is anindividual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and theenvironment in which they live. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are notable to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions tohomes with children under 12 years of age. However if the dog is shown to be good with children wewill approve homes with children 8 years or older.
