Hello everyone! My name is RON and here is some info about me:PHYSICAL INFO: Breed: Shih-Tzu Age: 5 years old Gender: Male Weight: 17.5 lbs, 8 kg Height: 43 cm (top of head to paws) Length: 55 cm (head to tail) RESCUE STORY – Me and my sister found our way to the shelter due to unforeseen circumstances when our original owner faced health challenges and could no longer provide for us :( Thankfully, we were spared any time without a roof over our heads and we were treated with kindness! I enjoyed a loving and comfortable life in the care of my previous owner but I am so ready to find a new and loving home with you! TEMPERAMENT - I've always been sweet and friendly right from the start. I absolutely adore going on long walks and enjoying playful interactions with fellow dogs, yet I also find contentment in simply lounging around with my human companions. While I might not be the most high-energy pup around, I truly enjoy socializing with people, kids (video pending), and dogs of all sizes. Oh, and I'm quite motivated by food too! As for cats, well, I haven't been tested in that department. One thing's for sure – I'm not possessive when it comes to territory, food, or toys. My heart is open to sharing love and joy with everyone around me :) ENERGY LEVEL - Medium. I've got just the right balance of pep in my step without being overly energetic. I enjoy engaging in activities and playtime, but I also appreciate some quality downtime to relax and unwind. My unique background adds a touch of adventure to my story, and I'm ready to embrace each day with a mixture of enthusiasm and tranquility! GETS ALONG WITH: Kids – Video pending. Dogs – Yup! Here's me with other dogs ! Cats – Unknown (I haven't been tested around cats) PREY DRIVE - Unknown. I’m not too sure how I’ll react around new things in Canada like squirrels/rabbits/cats etc. My adopter needs to be prepared and willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise. TRAINING: Leash skills – When I'm on a leash, I'll admit I'm not the best – I tend to pull a little bit. You see, I can't contain my excitement when it's time for our outdoor walks. The passing cars and people don't faze me in the slightest, though. They're just part of the exciting world I'm eager to explore! House trained – Work in Progress. I know I'm supposed to do my business outside in the courtyard at the shelter, however there are so many other doggies here that we don't always get the individual attention we need in order to establish complete house-training. Frequent potty breaks and positive reinforcement will help me learn propper habits in my new home :) Please Note: WCP will provide 1 complimentary training session with Hannah before the finalization of your adoption. WCP highly encourages adopters to do some research and training before their dog arrives. HEALTH NOTES: I am neutered and vaccinated. I will come to Canada with proof of all my vaccines and test records. I receive a monthly pill to prevent heartworm.
