This Chaparral Signature 280 is powered by Twin Volvo Penta 5.0L MPI engines, replaced in 2019. The onboard Kohler generator 5.0KW - has low hours. The boat is a great layout for family fun - is loaded and in very good condition. Raymarine electronics plus all gauges and switches are in good condition.The cockpit comfortably seats up to 8 adults and there is room to move around - with the sun pad on the bow a great spot for catching some rays! The large spotlight at the bow is controlled with joystick control at the helm, plus the windlass has foot pad controls at the bow and button controls at the helm. The bench captain's seat has a bolster and there is plenty of room for everyone to enjoy the ride in the cockpit. If you like a great sound system this boat is for you! Down below the cabin is warm and inviting with new carpeting and rich wood finishes. The forward V-berth is comfortable and roomy. The dinette quickly converts into a third sleeping space and the aft berth has room for 2 adults as well. The galley is fully equipped with a microwave, a single burner electric stove top, a round sink, and a refrigerator with a freezer compartment inside. There is plenty of storage space and a cedar-lined compartment below the control panel. The control panel is labeled and easy to manage and is located just above the stereo system control unit. The AC control (thermostat) is just to the right of the control panel. The TV is opposite the dinette for easy viewing. The head is opposite the control panel and features a wet head, with a sink/shower combo and a large mirror and porthole for natural light. The toilet is a Dometic with a Vacuflush system. The boat has a pressurized water system with a 6-gallon hot water heater in the engine compartment. The engine compartment is below the aft portion of the cockpit. The hatch opens quickly and easily and the twin Volvo Penta 5.0L engines appear to be in good condition. The 3 batteries were replaced in recent years. There is an onboard battery charger. The electrical (battery switches) are all in one location just after you enter the boat to the port side. The transom door - also is home to the transom shower with hot and cold running water for a quick wash down on the swim platform. There is a large storage compartment on the transom accessible from the swim platform that has the shore power connections and raw water washdown and access to fill the freshwater tank or hook up to city water. There is ample storage space for additional fenders or lines as shown in the photos. The post-mounted Magna BBQ grill with propane bottle and the cover come with the boat as well.
