Made entirely out of sturdy aluminum, including the deck and superstructure, this vessel is based on a Charles Whitholz design and further modified with two bilge keels. Together with a heavy duty skegg rudder, the boat can safely and easily sit on the beach at low tide.The vessel is heavily constructed with 1/4” marine 5086 aluminium plating on the keel, house sides and superstructure. The deck is covered with 3/8” aluminium plating. The 3 keels are supported by a 1” shoe and frames are made of 1/4”,11/2”x 2 1/2 inch on 19 1/2 inch centres.The hull sides are insulated with double 1” blue styrofoam sheeting.This sloop-rigged sailboat features a roller furling both on the main sail as well as the head sail. This makes sail handling easy even in strong winds.A NEW Beta 60 Diesel Engine was professionally installed in April 2022 at Tom Mack Shipyard in Richmond, Vancouver.The boat can be steered from two locations: the wheelhouse inside and the cockpit area at the back.Generous accommodation is provided with a yellow cedar wood intrior.There is a V-berth forward followed by a head to port and hanging locker and stowage opposite to starboard. The salon has a galley to port and full settee/berth to starboard. Steps lead up and aft to the pilothouse with helm to starboard and fore aft settee with pedestal on port side.
