Furuno NavNet electronics Wesmar h ydraulic bow thruster Full size refrigerator / freezer, Reliable, proven Cat power with 3,000 hours Introduction In the late 1970s, the Ocean Alexander 50 Pilothouse MK I was the first Ocean Alexander model brought to the US. It was very well received, and just under 100 were produced. It was replaced in1985 with the MkII. This updated model has a more modern appearance, with more contemporary lines and a sleeker profile. With Improved fiberglass laminate technology and ability, the updated MkII is about 10% lighter than her predecessor, and certainly no less robust, and capable. There are a few important features that make this particular OA 50 MkII stand out: The hydronic furnace is initially plumbed to the domestic hot water system, providing hot water without the need of an AC power supply, and then on to the units throughout the boat All engine hoses were replaced in 2022, including the large exhaust hoses The bow thruster is hydraulic, rather than electric, allowing continuous power when needed Robust Furuno electronics 1,600 Amp hours of newer AGM batteries This is an opportunity to own a quality yacht.� It is a timeless classic, highly admired amongst knowledgable cruisers. Argo is in above average condition with handsome lines, outstanding teak joinery, and reliable Cat power. Throughout Argo It is an easy step from the dock or a tender to the broad swim platform, then to the boat?s cockpit through the transom gate. The cockpit is just large enough for al fresco coffee or dining. It is teak clad, and there are steps up port and starboard to the side decks, pilothouse doors, and the foredeck. Enter the salon from the cockpit through sliding double doors of solid teak and glass. The salon and galley are adjacent, with the galley forward to port, and the well laid out wet bar to starboard. Then steps up to the pilothouse with teak steering on the centreline, upholstered settee with table, port and starboard wing doors, and on starboard, stairs up to the flybridge and upper helm. To port in the pilothouse, is a curved teak staircase to the accommodations with the master cabin with ensuite head and shower forward, a huge locker and guest head in the foyer, and the commodious guest cabin aft (midships). Up from the pilothouse is the flybridge and upper helm with helm chair, and built-in settees port and starboard. The boat deck is aft with room for a good sized tender, BBQ, more lounging area, and all manner of cruising needs. Highest quality teak joinery throughout� Windows and portlights, all screened, give fresh air ventilation and natural light throughout the salon and accommodations Webasto central heat Central vacuum LED lighting Accommodations Argo has a two cabin / two head configuration with the owner?s cabin forward, and the guest cabin midships. The companionway to the accommodations area leads down from the port side of the pilothouse to a foyer. As in the rest of the yacht, the accommodations are finished in the finest teak joinery, some with raised teak panels. Each cabin has LED lighting, heat controls, generous berths, and excellent storage. The Owner?s Cabin is also richly finished in teak, and features a centreline queen berth, numerous lockers and drawers, and natural light and ventilation. It is spacious enough, and intimate to the ocean around, and, with high bulwarks, is safe and secure. The teak caprail is extends to the caprails and railings leading forward. Doors from the cockpit to the salon are of solid teak. They are sliding, rather than hinged, and in fair weather, the salon and cockpit almost become one. Full beam cockpit lazarette for access to systems, as well as plenty of room for storage. This locker also gives access to the machinery space, meaning a tech does not need to enter the yacht to service the engines.
