Reporting to the Team Lead in Telecom, the incumbent will provide support for the management and coordination of the day-to-day activities ensuring the efficient operations of the telephone services at Dalhousie University. Required responsibilities: Manage client relationships through the provision of excellent customer service. Interact with clients to fulfill orders, troubleshoot and report repairs, document details of requests and actions taken, provide quotes and resolve issues. Provide telecom solution advice to departments. Maintain adequate stock/inventory levels by ordering or arranging for the repair and refurbishment of telephone sets and parts. Clean used telephone sets in preparation for recirculation. Prepare damaged sets for recycling. Provide general office support to assigned area. (e.g. Onboarding new staff, prepare purchase orders, arrange meetings, respond to email, monitor office supplies, collect and distribute departmental mail, troubleshoot office equipment and coordinate facilities work orders.) Requirements: Business/Office Administration program with approx 3-5yrs' background (or equivalent combination of training and background). Progressive background working with the public in a customer service setting. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft products (specifically Ms word and Microsoft excel) is essential. Good communication expertise both oral and written is required. Must be organized with the expertise to exercise initiative and operate independently. Background in the telecom field would be considered an asset, particularly Centrex knowledge. Dalhousie University supports a healthy and balanced lifestyle.
