In 1 sentence The aim of this open source project is to build a widely accepted NFV technology platform for service and application innovation, and YOU can be at the very center of this development. Operators urgently need a streamlined way to manage their networks and launch new services at the click of a button, and we are building it! The Linux Foundation’s ONAP project is ushering in a new collaborative relationship between the operator and vendor. Amdocs and its’ operator partners lead the way with the 1st jointly developed commercial ONAP deployments, delivered with our highly innovative collaborative 1 team model of working with our carrier partners. Amdocs is at the very core of this development as a Platinum ONAP member https://www.onap.org/members . Key Human Qualities Demonstrate humility, open-mindedness, empathy, and curiosity. No background in ONAP required, but come to us excited at the prospect of working in ONAP, with a basic understanding of what it means. Be able to answer the basics (what is ONAP for, what is a VNF, understand ODL, Openstack and other core technologies) Come with examples of how you have learned a lot on your own time , show willingness to do things on your own before seeking expert advice All you need is... Bachelor's degree in Science/IT/Computing or equivalent. 7-eight years' background as a software engineer or a software support engineer. Awareness of programming concepts and expertise to write software code in at least 1 programming language. Some Technical Qualities We Would Love to See Knowledge of design patterns, e.g. “Gang of Four” patterns, how Lazy Loading works. Java frameworks background Knowledge of Java eight or 9 , understanding of new language features. Kotlin, Scala and Groovy is a plus. Exposure to microservices architecture Background with ELK, Jenkins, CI/CD, Gitlab Git, with some CLI commands background Cloud native background (Docker and K8S), have played with Docker manually and Kubectl cmds Brushed up on networking, understanding concepts of SDN, understand how code and networking interact
