This entry level position includes a 14-week course combining on-line and in-store training. The Pharmacy Assistant is responsible for providing superior customer service in a friendly, knowledgeable and professional manner. You will focus on the achievement of Pharmacy excellence in the areas of customer service, workflow efficiencies, and inventory management. Program Info Successful completion of the Sobeys sponsored SAIT On-line Pharmacy Assistant Training Program is a condition of employment with the Company Must accept employment as a Pharmacy Assistant with the Company Must be willing to make a two (2) year commitment of employment with the Company $1,000.00 registration deposit will be reimbursed by Sobeys upon successful completion of the program Position summary The Pharmacy Assistant is responsible for providing superior customer service in a friendly, knowledgeable and professional manner. You will perform various medication related duties including: distribution and delivery, packaging, inventory management, and records maintenance. Assignments include: Prescription assembly Select, package, and label medications Maintain patient files Create electronic medical records and drug order entry Input and maintain customer profiles in software databases Receive and input prescription orders Act as 1st point of contact with the public in-person and by phone Inventory Support Maintain medication inventory levels and monitor product expiry dates Order, receive, unpack, inspect and restock pharmaceutical goods Operate a cash register Replenish supplies and keep work area clean and orderly Constant standing and frequent walking Occasionally lifting and carrying 10-20 pounds Job responsibilities Must have access to a computer and printer at home (cannot be a MAC computer).
