The Team Scotiabank’s Investment Platform (IP) team is responsible for building and supporting Investment applications within Canadian Banking Technology. With your BA and developer teammates, the vision is to deliver enhancements and solutions to meet the needs of our business partners in Retail Deposit & Investments (RD&I) and Scotia Securities (SSI) as well as for our customers. The role: To support the above vision we are seeking an Pega Developer who will play an important part in the team and help the team achieve the desired goals by contributing technically and analytically to meet the needs of our business partners. You will collaborate closely with Application development and maintenance teams, Business Analysts, Operational Support teams and Product owners to provide Incident resolution and application development deliverables. You will be expected to provide recommendations on best practices and enhancements that are in line with the bank’s technology road map. In addition, the applicant will also work towards ensuring application reliability and stability leveraging an array of monitoring tools. Is this role right for you ? For this role you will be leading development efforts in project delivery for new features and products. Develop and test code from design specifications, as well as implement and support enhancements to applications Provide technical ability in medium to complex projects as a Technical Lead capable of providing guidance and advise to the team Working closely in collaboration with Architects and other cross functional teammates in creating design documents, outlining overview, diagrams, technical qualifications and solution that best addresses a business needs. Participate in code review of peers and junior teammates and recommend suggestions for improvement where appropriate to ensure high-quality product Provide leadership in production support issues and after-hours support possible. Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role ? Computer Science Degree; or related work background. 7+ years of background in Design, Development and maintenance of PRPC applications. Fundamentals in Core Java & Object Oriented concepts. Background on PRPC version seven and above, PRPC Best Practices and Direct Capture of Objective. Hands on background in designing and implementing complex workflows & PEGA decision rules Ability in PRPC Integration with external systems in an enterprise environment .[ Including but not limited to the following SSO, SOAP, REST, MQ, EMAIL, FILE LISTENERS] Reports and Correspondence Generation. Knowledge in application performance tuning & PEGA product deployment guidelines and process. Database Modeling and SQL query Optimization; UI design and build background What's in it for you ?
