Operational Quality Lead
Job description: The OQ Lead's main role is to oversee the quality of Cannabis production processes in compliance with Cannabis Regulations, GPP and GMP. The OQ Lead leads and coordinates a team of OQ Associates providing quality oversight for site manufacturing operations and associated systems. The OQ Lead will participate in cross functional teams and collaborate with all departments to ensure compliance with GPP and GMP. The OQ Lead ensures that OQ personnel are properly trained and qualified to perform their job functions and that they understand and comply with current company, departmental and regulatory requirements. Duties and Responsibilities: Supervise OQ employees and provide guidance and leadership Manage OQ employee-related activities including performance management and development. Identify resource needs Ensures that the required initial and continuing training of the OQ department is performed Ensures appropriate documentation review of batch manufacturing and/or packaging records, Certificate of Compliance, Certificate of Analysis, etc. Review testing data, analytical reports and Certificate of Analysis (CoA) of each cannabis product batch/lot prior to further processing Provide oversight to improve and maintain the QMS in the facility Supports deviation/failure, compliant or OOS investigations and approves all associated output and CAPAs Review and approval of change controls Approval and control of GMP documentation including SOPs, Batch Records, Master Batch Records & validation documents Assists in data collection and analysis of OQ metrics Support equipment validations and qualification programs and ensure preventive maintenance status of equipment is up to date Identify continuous improvement opportunities that result in quality/compliance improvement, efficiency and/or cost savings Participates and assists in internal and external regulatory compliance audits Work as part of a cross-functional team with other departments and facilitate inter-departmental teamwork Perform other duties as assigned by direct supervisor and QAP Requirements: Bachelor's in a Scientific/Technical field 5+ years' background in the Pharmaceutical, Healthcare or related industry with 2 yrs supervisory background in quality operations environment Excellent people skills (dynamic, strong relationship builder and influencer) Good communication and management skills Background in developing and delivering training Excellent attention to detail and consistent high-level of accuracy Problem-solving and decision-making skills Expertise to work as a team player and to manage team fairly and efficiently Previous Health Canada Security Clearance and work background with a Canadian Licensed Producer (LP) is considered an asset Current understanding of seed to sale system (ERP System) is an asset Proficient in English (proficient or functional in French is considered an asset) Salary: Commensurate with background and requirements Security Clearance : Security Clearance may be required for this position.
