Operational Quality Associate
Position details: The Operational Quality Associate will be responsible for providing quality oversight for site manufacturing operations and accountable for in-process quality monitoring of cannabis production processes in strict compliance with the Cannabis Act, GPP and GMP standards. Duties and Responsibilities: Perform documentation review (i.e. batch manufacturing and/or packaging records, Certificate of Compliance, Certificate of Analysis, etc.) with high attention to detail using working understanding of quality concepts and internal procedures. Ensure that all processing activities are carried out as per Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and in compliance with Cannabis Regulations. Support equipment validation and qualification programs and ensure preventative maintenance status of equipment is up to date. Interpret analytical results and prepare release documentation and certificate of guarantee for cannabis products for sale. Assist in self inspections as well as regulatory audits. Assist in Out of Specifications (OOS) complaints and development and implementation of CAPAs. Review status of process materials and ensure proper control, release and transfer of materials for production and sale through ERP System. Monitor and verify clone, plant and product transfer across cultivation rooms and vault. Ensure that cannabis products are destroyed as per current approved SOPs and in line with the Cannabis Regulations. Perform deviation/failure investigation, change evaluation/risk assessment, product sampling and retention, document control and record management to ensure process and product compliance. Review testing raw data, analytical reports and Certificate of Analysis (CoA) of each cannabis product batch prior to further processing. Facilitate cross-functional teams and inter-departmental objectives. Other duties as assigned by direct supervisor and QAP. Requirements: BSc in Biological Sciences/ Pharmacy/ Food or post-secondary diploma in Science related technical discipline. Previous Health Canada Security Clearance and work background with a Canadian Licensed Producer (LP) is considered as an asset. one to three years of background in Quality Assurance in a Health Canada regulated environment (cannabis, food, pharmaceutical or nutraceutical industries) with proficiency in documentation and analytical testing Good understanding of the Cannabis Act & Regulations, Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, Pest Control Products Act, Fertilizer act, Guidelines for residual solvents ICH Topic Q3C (R5). Thorough knowledge and compliance with GMP, GPP, GLP, GDP, HACCP. Current understanding of seed to sale system (ERP System) is an asset. Proficient in English (proficient or functional in French is considered an asset). Expertise to multitask as well as prioritize tasks Expertise to work as a team player Excellent attention to detail and consistently high-level of accuracy Possess a high-level of good judgement Salary: Commensurate with background and requirements Security Clearance: Security Clearance may be required for this position.
