Our Medical Lab Technologists provide accurate and timely interpretive and diagnostic specimen testing and reporting. Through accuracy, quality, efficiency and expediting test results, you will contribute to patient well-being and the achievement of better health outcomes. This is a great role for a hands-on, detail-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Your responsibilities include: Conducting a broad range of diagnostic and interpretive specimen testing Performing, interpreting and releasing results, while ensuring the confidentiality of patient details. Identifying incidents and non-conformities, participating in the development of effective corrective action plans, escalating as appropriate and driving continuous improvement. Assisting with the evaluation and implementation of new technology. Participating in issue solving in work organization and workflow. This is a Regular Part time role with a day shift and rotational weekends suitable to the maintenance of a healthy work/life balance. LifeLabs’ facilities are also known as “teaching laboratories,” offering opportunities to share knowledge in a collaborative environment, 24-hour medical support through our Medical Science team and Medical library, and the expertise to teach our college and university student placements. Do you have: College degree or University degree in Medical Laboratory Science, or equivalent education and/or background. CMLTO registered. Great communication expertise to enable you to relate with a wide variety of people. Good technical skills and knowledge. Analytical skills, including the expertise to identify and follow-up on issues. Expertise to maintain the strictest standards of safety, patient privacy and confidentiality. five Technical Elements – Micro MLT The successful applicant must have recent Microbiology background. The successful applicant must have some knowledge in automated blood culture analyzers, Automated Identification and susceptibility analyzers, specifically the BACTEC FX, VITEK, and Bruker MALDI-TOF. The successful applicant must have some technical skills. The successful applicant must demonstrate a good understanding of Total Quality Management System and application of this knowledge in ensuring the release of good quality results.
