We are currently looking for a Purchasing Manager to join our team at Nissan Canada in Mississauga, Ontario. POSITION DETAILS Responsible for the management of Purchasing activities within NCI. The position reports to the CFO/Director of Finance at NCI - Toronto and the Senior Manager of Service Support Purchasing in NNA - Nashville. POSITION FUNCTIONS 1. Manages Purchasing communication, co-ordination and development of strategic direction between other Nissan affiliates, end users and potential or existing suppliers for all spending initiatives within the scope of Purchasing. This is done through: 2. Deliver a bottom line improvement through a) employment of strategic initiatives in the area of consolidation and / or synergy with NNA or Global Purchasing groups. b) working with suppliers to ascertain how they can be more efficient in the expected deliverables of services and commodities. c) identification and elimination of previously embedded inefficient cost and non-value added activities 3. Manages all aspects of supplier relations including the sourcing of new qualified suppliers while analyzing supplier's potential for strategic opportunities. Responsible for resolving and arbitrating ongoing issues with existing suppliers. Purchasing manages a yearly expenditure and a key vendor count of 100+. 4. Manages Purchasing staff including providing guidance to department on techniques and alternatives; identifies and responds to staff development requirements; identifies current and future organizational requirements to meet corporate objectives; hires, trains, manages, coaches and conducts performance appraisals. 5. In conjunction with NNA Purchasing, designs and implements processes and procedures to ensure the effectiveness of Purchasing strategic plans and programs for NCI. Represents NCI on all related teams and tasks forces set up by NNA. Also represents NCI as both a global and North American sourcing leader on Key commodiites as assigned. This task includes establishing strategies for the most effective regional or global identification of common suppliers to effect cost efficiency gains. MIN REQUIREMENTS * University Bachelor's Degree required. * A min of 7-10 plus years of professional expertise in purchasing including five years of staff managerial background in the purchasing function. * This background should also include involvement with purchasing on an international level. Must have a sound understanding and knowledge of contract law. * Strong organizational and project management expertise are required * Proficient technical skills (SAP, Workflow, e-mail, and Ms word, Ms excel and Outlook).
