Learning & Development Manager We are searching for an energetic, dynamic, proactive individual with superior management skills and proven facilitation background to oversee learning and development. The position will be responsible for driving ongoing improvements to service delivery and the guest background through coaching, training and career development initiatives; from on-boarding and new hire programs through to leadership development offerings. Summary of Responsibilities: Reporting to the Director Talent & Culture, assignments include but are not limited to: Provide mentorship throughout the organization designed to engage the whole Hotel in its pursuit of superior guest service Create an environment of fully engaged leaders by coaching within each department, for a sustainable approach to leaders and colleague engagement Set example to leadership at department meetings, assisting with presentations designed to measure success in the pursuit of 100% problem free stays Creative, innovative approach that will drive immediate results, specifically Guest Satisfaction and Colleague Engagement Work together with the Director Talent & Culture to determine, create and facilitate leadership workshops Facilitate, and/or, support and develop others to facilitate Corporate training programs variety or pertinent topics and other programs based on needs assessments Accountable for establishing leadership training needs analysis Collaborate together with the operations team to prepare and manage training budget Strategizing training plans that will drive service excellence and support brand initiatives Initiate, coordinate and/or execute, evaluate and follow-up of all leadership training activities within the hotel Maintain accurate records of leadership training activities and participant info Provide support and development of Departmental Trainers and ensure compliance and consistency Active participation in driving employee engagement through daily interaction with departments and leadership teams Collaborate with operational leaders to ensure effective Graduate Program is in place for each participant (rotation, mentor, training, projects, committee participation) Support Apprenticeship programs throughout the hotel Manage E-Cornell and other leadership education offerings Monitor and drive a colleague performance review program, Leadership Evaluation and Development Program Actively initiate relationships and partnerships with industry associations, external training companies and academic counsels related to the hospitality industry in an effort to recruit potential quality leaders Requirements: Previous leadership background in a related position required Min of 3 yrs background in a leadership role within the hospitality industry Excellent management skills required Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft office suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher, Microsoft excel, and Microsoft word) required Must have background in group facilitation University degree in Hotel/Restaurant Management or related discipline a strong asset Knowledge of Taleo, Human Resources Manager is an asset Results orientated with the expertise to be flexible and to work well under pressure Effective leader and team member, possessing a high degree of professionalism, sound human resources management principles, communication, administrative skills, ambition, drive, energy, and determination Proactive, energetic, self-starter who is driven and thrives on a challenge Innovative, creative and willing to take risks Enthusiastic and positive personality with expertise to build strong relationships Expertise to analyze date and trends and create strategies for improvement Sense of urgency and the expertise to prioritize 2nd language an asset Visa Requirements: Candidates must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
