Where does the Jr. Automation Technician fit in? The Automation Technician (that's you!) will be responsible for the daily shift operations that relate to the robotics and assembly cells. You will have a "hands-on" approach providing support in the automation department. You ensure the production floor is operational in an efficient and effective manner. Also, you will lead and support activities such as automation downtime tracking, analysis, continuous improvement, reporting, equipment repairing and installing. You will also assist with the development of equipment and new automated processes. What you can expect as our next Jr. Automation Technician: Oversee all automation, process development & optimization; providing support and guidance to the automation and assembly equipment maintenance as needed Assist with sourcing, implementing, and maintaining assembly automation Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues on the production floor Ensure preventative maintenance activities are completed on all automation and assembly equipment Assist with design & build of automation and assembly cells, which can include vision systems Assist with determining continuous improvement opportunities to utilize automation in the plant in order improve productivity and labour efficiencies Aid in root cause analysis when customer complaints arise Help implement corrective actions such as poka-yoke, vision systems, and other automated measures Assist with managing automation asset inventories, spare parts management, program change logs, program backup data: base and safety precautions as it pertains to automation Ensures compliance of Axiom's standards and procedures And more! Do you have what is takes to be our next Jr. Automation Technician? Post-secondary education or certificate in Robotics and Industrial Automation, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or relevant field Min 1-two year background in Automation Hands-on background with Wittmann, Fanuc, Ranger, Yushin robots Background with Logic programming, robotic programming and Vision Systems Hands-on background with PLC (Omron CX1/Allen Bradley) is an asset Knowledge of engineering design software such as AutoCAD, Solid Works, etc. is an asset Knowledge of Standard Microsoft office suite software such as Ms excel, Microsoft word would be an asset Possess strong fundamental knowledge of control and electrical system design and its application in automated environment Must be mechanically inclined Expertise to think and execute strategically and is results-oriented Able to convey technical info to members of management, co-workers, clients, suppliers and outside organizations Self-motivated individual with a strong problem-solving skill with the expertise to work efficiently in a team or individual setting Excellent management expertise with the expertise to multi task as required Crane, Forklift and/or Scissor Lift license is an asset Background in the plastic injection molding industry is an asset Background in the Automotive Industry is an ASSET!
