In this role, you will be accountable for the planning and design of labour, materials, external services, access methods, and equipment for IT Cable Plant small projects. You will demonstrate a deep understanding of maintenance planning and scheduling concepts as well as maintenance practices, performance measures and scheduling tools and techniques. You will use your ability to: Identify and handle all factors relevant to achieving safe, environmentally responsible and cost effective Small Demand IT cable plant plans Collaborate closely with various teams to develop seamless interfaces between functions, to enable the safe, consistent and reliable planning of all Cable Plant small demand activities Manage and adjust planning priorities according to a combination of factors such as operational qualifications, plant risk, defect analysis, and major event calendar dates Prepare job plans to include the logical sequencing of associated tasks, taking into account multi-craft alignment (networking, computing, server, etc.) Maintain and continuously improve job plans and task lists, through analysis of prior experience order history, soliciting planning feedback, performing workplace observations, and field walk downs Ensure compliance to all of our relevant policies and standards including the IT management of change (MOC) process and IT business processes, as well as providing input into the development of procedures and standards Be a key member in the Infrastructure Small Demand team, working hand-in-hand with solution designers, architecture, supply chain management, and operations We’d like to review your application if you have… Must-haves (min qualifications): Five Years of IT cable solutions design or fiber optics construction background in cable plants, with at least 2 of those years being hands-on planning background Mechanical trade certificate or diploma in a relevant technical field or equivalent technical and operational background Proven work history with Ms office, and a current understanding of computerized maintenance management systems A demonstrated safety mindset coupled with a preventative and contingency based approach to planning and a focus on continuous improvement Capable of handling several tasks while focusing on quality and completion of deliverables Exceptionally effective communication and social skills, with the ability to work professionally with others at various levels throughout the organization You are a highly motivated self-starter who makes decisions with integrity and supports company objectives and policies A valid driver’s license and a clean driving history Oil Sands Background Alignment with our of: safety above all else, respect, raise the bar, commitments matter and do the right thing Preference for: Background with SAP GWOS Certified Fiber Optic Technician (CFOT) Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other important details: You will work out of our Base Plant Mine in Fort McMurray, Alberta Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday Why Suncor?
