Term of App't: January - April 2020 (90 hours total) Start date: January 6, 2020 Reporting to: Associate Dean of Academic & Vocational Programs Salary: $38.33 - $47.77, depending on background and requirements as per the BCGEU Faculty Collective Agreement. Temporary employees receive an additional $0.50/hour in lieu of benefits, 6% vacation pay and 4.2% statutory holiday pay included with each pay. Description:The University Arts and Sciences Programs at Northern Lights College offer a wide variety of courses to NLC students. GEOG 260: Introduction to GIS , is 1 of the required courses offered in the Land and Water Resources Diploma and the Archaeology Diploma, and it can be used as an elective in other programming. This course also receives transfer credit at other post-secondary institutions. The successful applicant will be responsible for face to face delivery on the Fort St. John campus from January to April 2020.For detailed course descriptions, please see the following webpage: http://www.nlc.bc.ca/Programs/All-Courses REQUIREMENTS: Required: Master's Degree in Geographical Details Systems or a related degree such as Computer Science or Geography where significant course work or background related to GIS; Commitment to student motivation and success; and the Expertise to function effectively as a team player through collaborative approaches to course pedagogy. Preferred: Instructional background in a post-secondary environment; The Provincial Instructor Diploma Program or an equivalent credential in adult education, or a readiness to pursue such a credential; and Background instructing a culturally diverse group of students, including Indigenous and international students.
