Electrical Manufacturing Engineer

Toronto, ON

The Electrical Engineer, Manufacturing will be responsible for project implementation, KPI achievement (ergonomics, quality output, and process efficiency, cycle time improvements) and resolving shop problems through root cause analysis and data supported problem-solving. Your clear communication abilities and cross-functional team approach will allow you to work efficiently with manufacturing in continuous improvement initiatives. This role provides technical leadership and collaborates with operations and maintenance to ensure performance targets are achieved for his/her assigned process area. Job details Provide, maintain, and audit technical standards for designated area within assembly shop Support of yearly corporate objectives, CapEx projects, and long term strategic planning Lead daily troubleshooting activities for programming, network, controls, electrical, mechanical, provide solutions and support for process concerns or improvement Make adjustments to machine programs to allow more parts to run, increase efficiency, decrease cycle time, improve throughput Create and modify PLC programs and industrial networks programs to control of electro-mechanical systems Ensure systems are conforming to engineering design standards (Ontario Electrical Safety Code, Electrical Safety Authority Standards, Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations of Ontario) Analysis and implementation of countermeasures for safety, quality, & ergonomic concerns Process equipment evaluation, specifications, procurement and implementation Process simulation/bottleneck analysis Provide solutions and support to manufacturing processes and Kaizen activity Budget forecasting and control Cost reduction identification and implementation Co-ordination of external skilled tradestrades/supplierities Desired Skills and Background Engineering Degree (P. Eng eligible) Electrical, Controls, Mechatronics Engineering is preferred Expertise to read, understand, modify & program PLC code Background with controls, machine automation, and robotic applications Knowledge and background in the application of SPC (Statistical Process Control) as an analytical tool for process improvement Technical background/knowledge with torque control, line control systems Project Organizational skills and background Multi-disciplinary background in process or equipment engineering Flexible to accept and prioritize multiple challenges and quick change in priorities Strong problem-solving skills related to quality and productivity KPIs in assembly Strong leadership and computer skills Service orientated, hands-on type individual Strong understanding of equipment design and function Background in assembly plant manufacturing with high emphasis on process, equipment design, and system controls is an asset Day Shift, with afternoon shift and overtime support as required Periodic domestic and international travel as required We are committed to providing accommodations for candidates with disabilities; please advise us if you require an accommodation during the recruitment process.
