Employment Type: Contract ending March 31, 2023, Bargaining Unit Work Hours: 35 hours/week Salary: J8 - $33.06/hour Application Deadline: Open until filled Program Overview – Workforce Development, Community Programs Workforce Development offers a variety programs to support community members to improve their soft and technical skills and supports individuals to secure long-term employment in specific sectors. The Workforce Development team provides support to those who are unemployed or under-employed with specific skills training and employment supports for attachment with employers in various sectors. What You Will Do Make a difference in the lives of people and organizations by using your knowledge and skills in research, data gathering and analysis to find and report innovative solutions to problems present in the current labour market. Organize and coordinate project workflow, including deliverables, deadlines, and tasks. Develop key resources, including project plans, schedules, templates, presentations, and relevant communication pieces. Identify issues, risks, and misalignment across project, escalating where appropriate, and facilitating solutioning where necessary. Collaborate and maintain consistent communication with community and internal partners. Create and adapt data gathering and analysis tools specific for stakeholder inquiry. Conduct systematic secondary research on trends and factors shaping the Future of Work (e.g. technology, labour market demand, work/lifestyle preferences) and the intersection with newcomer youth employment Manage youth researchers to engage in appreciative inquiry via institutional interview with agencies that can showcase promising/successful youth employment programming. Conduct participatory group discussions Participate in knowledge mobilization activities to publish and champion WoodGreen’s thought leadership and program outcomes. This can include writing reports, planning and preparing for public symposia/workshops, coordinating events, and creating the design and production of data visualizations and other documents Utilize methods and approaches which target the organization’s anti-racism objectives and community development principles. Perform administrative tasks to support the work, including scheduling, coordinating meetings and events, data entry, communication, etc. What You Bring to the Team Master’s Degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. Research & Policy Studies, Data Analytics, Social Work, Education, Business, etc.). Experience with data management, with the ability to monitor data quality, analyze data through reporting, and interpret the results to inform program development recommendations. Expertise in designing and implementing primary qualitative and quantitative research methods, e.g. surveys, interviews, focus groups and facilitated group processes. Experience coordinating/delivering research, using diverse methods. What Will Set You Apart Critical understanding of qualitative and quantitative research and quality improvement methodologies. Strong computer literacy, including Excel, report writing. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Patience, compassion and sensitivity to deal with different cultures and different levels of abilities. Knowledge of the social services, non-profit employment sector an asset. Understanding of and sensitivity to issues facing vulnerable populations an asset. Demonstrated ability to develop and implement procedures and business systems to meet operational outcomes. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a track record of effectively engaging stakeholders, gathering requirements, brainstorming options, and presenting findings and recommendations. Proven ability to manage work activities, ideally in a client-focused, service delivery environment, that met target outcomes and deadlines.
