Job overview Under the general supervision of the Supervisor, Health Records Processing/Transcription, and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values and Management Philosophy of St. Boniface General Hospital, the CLERK III is responsible for: retrieving, sorting and processing discharges; filing health records; and performing other related duties as assigned. Background Six(6) months background in the Health Records Department of a hospital OR 1 (1) year related clerical background. Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate) Grade XII or recognized equivalent. Certification/Licensure/Registration Not Applicable Requirements and Skills Keyboard Speed - 45 wpm. Expertise to work in a Windows operating environment. Expertise to read, write speak and understand English. Expertise to retain details which is of a confidential nature. Good interpersonal communication abilities. Legible handwriting. Physical demands Not Applicable This position necessitates a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful applicant will be responsible for any service fees incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than 6 (6) months prior to the start of employment.
