E-Mail Address: Company operating name: Modern Home Furnishing Inc.Business address: 3349 W Broadway, Vancouver, BC V6R 2B1 Rate of pay: $ 29.50/hourOvertime: 1.5 times normal rate as per provincial regulations.Benefits Package: 4% vacation pay will be paid each payday on a bi-weekly basis; BC Medical Services Plan payable by employeeJob Type: Full time / PermanentHours: 40hrs/weekLanguage: EnglishStart Date of Employment (Approx.): As soon as possible Minimum Education: Completion of secondary school is required.Experience: 1-2 years of previous experience including the supervisory experience is required.Number of positions available: 1NOC Group: Retail and Wholesale Trade Managers (NOC:0621)Job Title: Assistant Manager Job Location: 3349 W Broadway, Vancouver, BC V6R 2B1 Job Duties: • Assume responsibility of the store when manager or owner is not present.• Assist in planning, directing and evaluating the operations of store• Accountable to management/owner for ensuring all operational standards and goals are achieved• Supervise, coordinate, schedule and assign tasks to Supervisors in order to ensure smooth store operations• Assist in determining merchandise to be sold and deal with Representatives of companies• Help planning creative in store marketing strategies to drive sales• Oversee shipping and receiving to ensure quality of goods and accuracy of shipments• Oversee and take responsibility for cash flow by performing duties like – counting the float, balancing cash receipts and performing opening/closing routines as and when required.• Directly impact and contribute to stores financial growth by driving sales.• Monitor and maintain inventory levels and set re-order points according to trend analysis results• Prepare sales, merchandising and personnel reports on a daily/weekly/monthly basis as appropriate• Always be prepared to step in and help other staff including sales personnel, cashiers and Supervisors• Handle all escalated customer issues.• Handle all staff and/or customer conflict resolution in a discrete and humane manner that will have minimal impact on the overall store functionality and reputation• Enforce fire and safety standards are maintained at all times (keep clear paths to exits, etc.)• Assists the owner in addressing staffing requirement including giving inputs during the hiring when required.
