As a tech-driven start-up, we are now looking for our next rock star to join our Toronto retail team and help bring it to the next level! How does 1 (perfect) workday look like? Reporting to the Retail Store Manager, you spend a fair amount of time working with our Optometrists and Retail teams, while also supporting the business needs of other departments such as IT, Finance and Inventory. You start your day fresh with a breakfast and caffeine (or not) from our store and get together with the team to look at daily opportunities based on the results of KBD’s (Key Business Drivers), promotions and trending campaigns. You support your store manager and lead by example in helping customers find the perfect pair of glasses and ensuring the necessary measurements are taken. To support our doctors and clinic, you ensure the patient’s transition from the exam room to the sales floor is a smooth background. You work cohesively with the opticians when troubleshooting and adjusting frames. You work hard to exceed your allocated daily target to keep above your monthly trends and will report any necessary findings back to the store manager. You support your store manager with merchandising current and new product and will assure visuals and aesthetics are maintained and up to date. At the end of the day, you ensure your MOD (Manager of Duty) delivers a detailed EOS (End of Shift) report highlighting the daily trends and creates an action plan for the next day ahead. Where we expect you to shine: Manage and coach with integrity in a way that promotes our culture, value and vision Assist the Retail Store Manager with all day-to-day operations to ensure the store operates in the most efficient and effective manner Host Team Chats in respect to targets, revenue and growth on a daily basis Implement daily goals for the work group to reach targets Create the staff schedule on a monthly basis and ensure all time off requests are properly submitted for payroll Assign specific operational tasks to Team Leaders and follow up on work results Implement plans to control costs Handle customer escalations, assess and address customer complaints, and act as a liaison to resolve customer concerns Monitor sales daily to ensure the store in on track to achieve the sales targets Analyze revenue daily, weekly, and monthly with tools provided to understand the growth of the business, and how to inviolate the way we engage with our customers to maximize productivity Using the tools provided, coach and develop the sales skills of EWC’s Maintain and improve staff performance through 1:1s that include coaching and counseling, as well as planning, monitoring, motivating, and appraising job results Work with the Retail Management team to develop best practices Assist the Retail Store Manager in recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training new teammates Assist our clinic with reception tasks and pre-screening patients Analyze store inventory and sales trends to curate a selection of product to maximize revenue Ensure all product on the shelves are current and available on our site and that the store has the appropriate inventory mix Set up visual merchandising displays at the store level Assist in the organizing of in-store events to amplify the clinic, store, and brand awareness Assist the Retail Store Manager with other administrative tasks as assigned Your eight main KPIs? Because you know what you are talking about: you have at least two years of managerial background in the retail or optical industry and your post-secondary degree or certificate in business/management is considered an asset Because you are a strong leader and can coach in a fast-paced environment Because you are committed to driving sales and leading teams to reach revenue targets Because you are proficient in Microsoft office suite (Outlook, Microsoft word, Microsoft excel, and PowerPoint) Because you have outstanding communication and people skills Because you have the expertise to analyze revenue data and KPI’s to impact current trends and smart plan for future, all while maximize revenue Because you are a great problem solver and multi-tasker Because you have the proven expertise to handle escalated customers in a professional and objective manner Because you have background delivering financial and administrative reports to management in an accurate and timely manner Because you know how to handle and manage confidential and sensitive details Because you have a flexible schedule with the availability to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed What’s in it for you?
