Here's how an Accounts Payable Clerk for our Ottawa office contributes to our team: Responsibilities Reviews and verifies invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to inputting into the accounting system. Processes vendor payments and performs payment cycles to meet payment terms. Prepares cash receipt entries. Updates purchase orders and receivers with accurate cost codes. Prepares the new vendor verification paperwork. Handles vendor inquiries or correspondence. Processes employee expense statements by receiving and verifying expenses. Verifies vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions. Other duties as required. Qualifications 1-2 years of progressive experience in a similar role; experience in the construction industry is considered an asset. Post-secondary degree or diploma in accounting or related discipline. Basic understanding of accounting principles and lien rights. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks with conflicting deadlines. Strong organizational skills and high level of detail orientation. Ability to work independently or in a team environment, with strong inter-personal skills. Ability to establish and maintain effective stakeholder relationships. Intermediate skills using Microsoft Office Suite. Knowledge/experience with Oracle and Enterprise One Software software is considered an asset.
