Every morning Molloy runs over squeaking looking for love and attention. The second his foster parents pet him he flops over on his side with excitement. He also enjoys being brushed and has perfect litter box habits. Check out his Instagram for flopping videos.He loves Monty his bonded brother, they spends most of their days snuggling. He loves to try to get Monty to groom him and lick his head. He adorably lays on his back with his feet in the air waiting for Monty to come over and groom him.He is very food motivated and loves to run across the room chasing after treats.When his fosters first got Molloy he was very shy. Then he realized that they have treats and food and he embraced attention and pets. When it's dinner time he squeals in excitement or runs around our legs waiting for food :)Molloy needs a patient adopter who is willing to spend time with him, and who will give him LOTS of love and attention! He loves pets, and likes to rub up against his foster parents so they keep petting him. He does have a nervous side and will give you a gentle swat (no claws) as a warning.As a senior cat, Molloy requires yearly bloodwork to monitor his health. His next test is due in March 2024. Like all ACR cats, Molloy has been treated for fleas and parasites.A little about Monty:Montgomery (Monty for short) is very curious and likes to follow, sit near and watch his foster parents. He has started to enjoy pets and brushing, and can be very silly, lying on his back with his feet in the air while playing with his toys. He is still very shy and nervous, but has started embracing gentle pets on his cheeks and back. Monty can be very silly, lying on his back with his feet in the air playing with his toys.Monty and Molloy grew up together in the same colony; they spend all their time together, sleeping or grooming each other. They are a bonded pair and need to be adopted together!They will require a patient adopter who has experience with street cats, who understands that it will take some time to open up. They need someone who has space in their home to give them a quiet place to adjust to a new environment, it can take a little while for street cats to open up and feel safe. Annex Cat Rescue has matched over 1000 cats and kittens with good adoptive homes since our group started! Annex Cat Rescue cats live in real homes with our foster volunteers -- not in cages! This way, the cats live in normal homes and receive good food and medical care -- and lots of personal attention. We get to know each cat, so we can help you find the best cat for you. It's kind of like a kitty match-making service! All of our cats are vaccinated, have been de-wormed, and are spayed or neutered once they reach six months of age. We are always available if you have questions or concerns as your new cat is adjusting to your home. Here is our adoption process: Please leave a voice mail or email. One of our Adoption Team volunteers will contact you to find out more about the kind of kitty you are looking for. We will suggest which of our cats might be the best match for you, and put you in touch with a few foster homes for you to contact. You can go and visit the cat in the foster home and see if you think it's a match. If you fall in love on the spot (so easy with kitties!) we ask you to go home and think about it overnight, since it's an important decision for you and for the kitty. Then, if it's a match, you can bring your cat carrier (and the adoption fee -- which is modest and does not cover all of our expenses) then take your kitty home! We ask all adopters to sign our adoption agreement, which just sets out some basics so we all understand our roles, with the kitty's best interests first and foremost! A day or two later, we'll call you to make sure all is well and provide any suggestions that might be helpful, if needed. The Annex Cat Rescue's motto is "Cat Adoption with a Difference." Our organization attempts to make a real difference for the homeless, stray and abandoned cats in this city through direct intervention and education. Every day, many people turn to us for help when Toronto Animal Services cannot. ACR does *not* run an animal shelter. All of our cats/kittens live in volunteer foster homes across Toronto where they are allowed to blossom and grow in a "home" environment (rather than in cages), and where they receive individual attention and love. While this prevents possible behavioural problems associated with caging animals, this also allows us to get to know each animal intimately and thus we can make excellent matches with adopters. Potential adopters are required to make appointments to view the animals in their respective homes. Our organization is "no kill". This means that cats in our care remain in foster homes are not euthanized (except for dire humane reasons). City shelters do not have such a policy.
