Lucky arrived at our rescue partner in Tennessee with the rest of his litter. Lucky unfortunately had parvo, but with the love and care of our partner, he pulled through! While Lucky was still recovering, his litter mates were taken in by another rescue and found their forever homes. With the love and care of our rescue partner in Tennessee, Lucky overcame parvo and is now here with us, ready to find his forever home. Lucky's new family will be so lucky to have him! Lucky is your typical goof ball puppy! His fosters describe him as affectionate, funny and curious. Lucky loves to play, eat ice and cuddle with his humans. His stocky stature and big smile never fail to make the people around him smile. Lucky will make a great addition to any family. With people he knows, Lucky is very friendly and affectionate. He enjoys being part of whatever is going on. With new people, Lucky can be a little bit shy, but usually warms up quickly, especially with treats. Lucky has met and done well with children of different ages. He is curious and playful. We think he would do well in a home with respectful, dog-savvy children. Lucky is an adaptable guy and would likely do well in any living situation. He is young and active, so a yard would be amazing, but as long as he had access to greenspace and plenty of exercise he would be ok without. He is still adjusting to city sounds, so he will take time to adjust if that is where he ends up. Lucky is very sociable and loves the company of other dogs. He would do well as a second dog, especially one who can help him build his confidence as he learns life in a home. Lucky would also do well as a solo pet given he has opportunities to socialize with other dogs. He has not been tested with cats, but given his personality we think he would do well with proper introductions. As a young dog, Lucky is full of energy. He will require plenty of physical and mental stimulation. He loves to play, solve puzzles, zoom around the yard and explore the neighbourhood. His fosters say he is still learning to be confident on walks, but does enjoy sniffing all around. His new family should be ready to help him learn his leash manners and confidence. Lucky does well to be left alone, in his crate, for a few hours at a time. He will settle quickly and does not show signs of separation anxiety. Lucky will likely do well to have free reign as he gets older and learns his manners. He is still young and curious so unwanted chewing and counter surfing are a possibility. Lucky lived outdoors until he arrived in our care. Learning his house manners is new and his forever family will need to be patient and committed to continuing to work with him on all the basics. Everything from crate training, walking on leash and basic commands like sit, down, stay, etc. Lucky is doing well so far with his fosters, but may have some regression when moving to a new home. Luckily, Lucky is a quick learner and loves to please his humans. He is also very food motivated so training is a dream.
