Sassy is pretty much the perfect dog (unless you're a cat or squirrel). She's a loyal, affectionate dog with a bright, warm and gentle demeanour, someone you can count on to be by your side, always making sure you're not alone. And she's small for a shepherd, only about 45 pounds! It's quite obvious that she was someone's well-loved pet for most of her life so far, and we intend that to be the case for the rest of it as well. This good girl already has basic commands down pat, and has lovely house manners: no accidents, no chewing, no jumping on things, and only barks when she needs to tell you something important. She walks beautifully on leash without pulling -- but being a devoted and loyal shepherd, we expect she'd be easy to train off-leash as well. Friendly and curious with other dogs and has shown no aggression, though she doesn't back down if provoked. Her preference is for people, so she definitely doesn't need the companionship of another dog to be happy. Her greatest joy in life seems to be riding shotgun. She LOVES going on car rides and taking in the world around her. She's curious and engaged, and watchful as the good shepherd she is. Sassy's in foster care in a Cambridge, ON. She badly needs another situation -- of course, we'd much rather see her adopted than moved to another foster home, and there's no reason on earth for this girl not to be adopted! You don't need to worry about training with this one. She's calm, obedient, and already knows the rules. Currently in the Houston area, Sassy is available for adoption or foster if necessary throughout much of the US and Canada.
