LIBERTY – Cattle Dog Mix / 4.5 Years / 20kg / F–Spayed Recently we saw videos of Liberty on her rescue day, and emotions happened. She was skin and bones, and we could hardly recognize her from the solid girl she is today. She had clearly been a recent mom, and it would have been so difficult for her to nourish her babies, when she was starving. IYKYK, that dogs that there are variations of street dogs. There are the bad-ass thugs that are well fed, and can take care of themselves. There are the adorables, that have no fear and approach every single person that may feed them. Then there is Liberty's category. At one time, she would have been an adorable, but her innocence would have been met with unkind reactions from humans. Despite being in need of medical care, Liberty tried to evade rescue by the humans there just wanted to help. But, her rescuers didn't give up and her foster mom won't either. Since being fostered with Nicole, our girl has come a long, long way. She loves her foster mom unconditionally (and it's mutual). She is easy to foster, and a really great house-guest. Together, they have learned "crate" which gives Liberty time on her own (which we all need from time to time). If Liberty is fretting too much, just say the word "crate" and she snuggles in and knows she is safe and secure. It has taken a bit of time to unwind her past, but it's only been a few months, and Liberty is almost there. If you are still reading at this point, lets share a bit about her future. She loves the ladies, so we anticipate a lot of marketing for Pride month. She is good with dogs once she knows they are cool. She will chase cats, and would appreciate being kid free. She loves to play in the park and chase her frisbee or flirt pole. She is active in bursts and can chill like a champ.
