Say hello to our resident tripod, Starla! Starla came to us with very little life experience and lacking many of the life skills a dog of her age should have. Because of this, Starla is looking for a dog-savvy adopter who understands her unique needs and is committed to providing a supportive environment where she can thrive. With consistent training and positive reinforcement, she's sure to gain confidence and become more comfortable in her own fur. She was in an accident a couple years ago, which caused her to need a leg amputation. She has since healed miraculously, and it has not impacted her ability to get around in the slightest. Starla is not suited for a loud or busy home, a home with small children, puppies, or other animals. Starla has been through a lot in her three years, so what she needs most in life is a stable and calm home. Starla has a heart of gold and a playful spirit just waiting to shine. She loves nothing more than cuddling up with her favorite humans and showing off her goofy side with a game of fetch or a romp in the yard. Starla has immediately stolen the hearts of everyone here with her goofy smile and loveable personality; she's truly one of a kind. She is a very strong, active girl and it's important that adopters are able to keep her exercise needs met and are able to handle a strong dog (she's still learning her leash manners!)Due to her history, she has a tendency to be dog-reactive and needs continued support and training to help her live her most calm, relaxed life. It is extremely important that any potential adopter understands this kind of behavioral challenge and is prepared and informed.
