Hello out there!! My name is Yam and you can read more about me here:PHYSICAL INFO: Breed: Lab mix Age: 1 year 3 months approx. Gender: Male Weight: 55lbs (25kg) Current Location: Vancouver! RESCUE STORY - When I was a wee spud, a nice family found me alongside my sisters in a dump in Cabo, Mexico. This family decided to foster me until I was able to find a place at a shelter. Since then, I've had the good fortune to make my way up north and find a caring foster family in Vancouver! I really, really like it here, and my foster family says I'm the goodest boy, however they have to move in August and so I'm in desperate need of a new home!! Please consider making me part of your furever family, I promise we'll be the bestest of buds!TEMPERAMENT - Here are some things my foster has said about me: I'm the sweetest and most cuddly, loving pup. I am a literal angel boy who loves to hang out by your side! I am also very smart and obedient, and a fast learner. I know some basic commands already :) When I go to the park, I love to play with my doggy friends although I can be a bit nervous if a larger pup comes by. I love a good game of fetch and some walkies and I'm pretty good on a leash! I'm also more on the low-energy side of things, so after I get my zoomies out I love to snuggle on the couch with the hoomans. I'm generally a relaxed pooch and I'm getting braver all the time (by exploring the water for example !), however sometimes I can be a bit nervous and I don't like it when strangers try to pet me on the head (I mean, do you?!). Overall, I'm an easygoing pup who would make a great addition to any family!ENERGY LEVEL - Low/ModerateGETS ALONG WITH: Kids – Unknown Dogs – Yep!! I get along just fine with other dogs. Cats – Unknown PREY DRIVE - Unknown. I’m not too sure how I’ll react around cats/squirrels/rabbits etc. My adopter needs to be prepared and willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise.TRAINING: Leash skills – I'm doing pretty good with my leash skills and I rarely pull! As more training may be required, my adopter must be willing to provide me with some training & patience House trained – I have been working on this and doing very well :) Crate trained – This is a work in progress and may need some additional training and patience Car rides – I have been working on this and doing very well :) Please Note: WCP Dog Rescue partners with Unleashed Dog Training (Hannah Swain, Balanced Dog Trainer) to offer adopters 50% off one training session (not including tax and applicable gas surcharges). Any subsequent sessions will be offered at standard rates. WCP also highly encourages adopters to do some research and training on their own before their dog arrives. HEALTH NOTES: I am neutered and vaccinated. NOTE: dogs from the Baja are not microchipped. NOTE: It is not uncommon for rescue dogs to require dental work/cleaning after they are adopted. West Coast Paws does not cover the costs of dental work and/or vet visits. These costs are the financial responsibility of the adopter.
