Adopt LYSSA a White - with Black Husky dog in Langley, BC (39271052)

Location:
Langley, BC
Description:

Hellooo friends!! My name is Lyssa and here is some info about me:PHYSICAL INFO: Breed: Husky mix Age: 4 years 2 months approx. Gender: Female Weight: 42 lbs (19kg) Current Location: Guadalajara Mexico RESCUE STORY - Well, I can tell you this much - Living on the streets of Mehico as a husky mix was no bueno my friends! I was awfully lucky to be found when I was because, besides the heat and the hardships, I also had a bout with TVT! Thankfully that's allll better now. I hear that the Pacific Northwest has some nice, cold weather. Boy, I would love to experience that! Rain and forests and snow and hiking would be RIGHT up my alley and I promise I'd be the perfect adventure-time companion. Wouldn't that be nice?TEMPERAMENT - I'm a loving and playful pup with a good amount of energy (I would make a great addition to an outdoorsy, active family!). I do well playing with other doggos and I'm alwayssss down for a rousing game of fetch or a friendly match of tug-of-war. My foster family says my sweet, husky personality shines through like a "star in the night sky" d'awww. My dream in life is to find a furever family who can see me for the absolute gem of a pup that I am and who I can share allll of the loving kisses and cuddles with (and adventures!). ENERGY LEVEL - Medium - HighGETS ALONG WITH: Kids – Unknown Dogs – Yes! I live with several other pups and we get along swimmingly Cats – No thank you! PREY DRIVE - I have a prey drive and I go after cats/squirrels/rabbits etc. My adopter needs to be prepared and willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise.TRAINING: Leash skills – I am a fan of walking on a leash but will need a little more practice, especially if I spot those pesky squirrels or other four-legged friends (in other words I can be excitable on a leash ). With a training plan in place though, I bet I can overcome this (especially as I am very food-motivated)! See me walking nicely on a leash with a friend here . House trained – My rescuers say I do very well with this! Crate trained - Not yet. Please Note: WCP Dog Rescue partners with Unleashed Dog Training (Hannah Swain, Balanced Dog Trainer) to offer adopters 50% off one training session (not including tax and applicable gas surcharges). Any subsequent sessions will be offered at standard rates. WCP also highly encourages adopters to do some research and training on their own before their dog arrives. HEALTH NOTES: I was diagnosed with TVT when I was found, a type of cancer that has a very low recurrence rate once treated. I have made a 100% recovery now :) I am spayed and vaccinated. NOTE: dogs from Guadalajara are not microchipped. NOTE: It is not uncommon for rescue dogs to require dental work/cleaning after they are adopted. West Coast Paws does not cover the costs of dental work and/or vet visits. These costs are the financial responsibility of the adopter. ADOPTION FEE: My adoption fee is $650.00 CAD + applicable taxes, which includes my airfare, if a flight volunteer is found directly to Vancouver. ------------------------------------- DISCLAIMER: Please visit wcpdogrescue.com to read about West Coast Paws Dog Rescue and it's adoption process. The info included in each WCP bio is provided to us from the international rescuer. WCP does not have in-person access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions, although we ask for video proof of a dog's attributes wherever possible. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person(s) adopting them and the environment in which they live. WCP is unable to guarantee the accuracy of a dogs age and/or breed. These are strictly "best guesses" based on veterinary exams and their educated estimates. ##1823605##
