We are currently looking for a Nursery Worker on behalf of our client, to assist in the care and maintenance of plants, trees, and shrubs in a nursery or garden center. If you have a passion for horticulture and enjoy working with plants, we'd like to introduce you to this role as a valuable member of our client's nursery team.Requirements- Education: No degree, certificate or diploma Experience: Experience an asset Worksite environment- Outdoors Wet/damp Odours Hot Work setting- Rural area Remote location Staff accommodation provided Tasks- Operate climate controls Spray or dust plants with insecticides and fungicides Assist in pruning trees, shrubs and plants Mix and prepare soils Plant bulbs and seeds Pot and re-pot plants Transplant seedlings or rooted cuttings Apply fertilizers Report signs of insect or disease damage Assist in grafting activities Dig up wrapping rootballs of trees and shrubs Water and tend to plants, lawns and/or gardens Clean work area Type of product- Bedding plants Berry bushes Fruit trees Ornamental trees, shrubs and hedges Seasonal plants Tropical plants Vegetables Equipment and machinery experience- Forklift Garden tractors Irrigation pumps and equipment Work conditions and physical capabilities- Fast-paced environment Repetitive tasks Handling heavy loads Physically demanding Standing for extended periods Bending, crouching, kneeling Large workload Attention to detail Hand-eye co-ordination Overtime required Weight handling- Up to 23 kg (50 lbs) Personal suitability- Reliability Team player Work Term: Seasonal Work Language: English Hours: 40 to 45 hours per week
