Adopt JOSELLE (Israel) kt a Whippet / German Shepherd Dog dog in Langley

Location:
Langley, BC
Description:

Greetings. My name is JOSELLE and here is a little info about me:Breed: Golden Retriever/Whippet/German Shepard mixAge: 2-1/2 yearsGender: femaleWeight: 20 kgHeight (ground to shoulder): 45 cmHighlights: playful, friendly, calm, cuddly, affectionate, curiousIn such a short time, I have such come a long way. I look forward to going further... to Canada and become a true Canadian puptizen with a family to love and who loves me.Almost 2 years ago, someone called my rescuers to help a dog who had a plastic jar stuck on her head for more than a week. You guessed it, it was me. It was summer time in Israel, the weather was hot and I surely was not getting enough air, nor any food and water. But I was so hungry, I had to lick the bottom of that grand smelling jar for what nourishment I could find.My rescers went to look for me, but we couldn’t find me. They returned the next day until they did. I was found hiding under a tree. I had finally been able to remove the jar, but my ears were in bad condition. They tried to catch me, but I was trying to bite them. Though they had difficulty controlling me, they were able to finally catch me with a net. They took me immediately to a vet where I was treated. Phew, quite the ordeal. After a few months, I turned into a very well socialized and confidant lady. After I realized they didn't want to hurt me and were actually caring for me, I learned that life with humans can actually be good. Not like my life on the streets. So, I have become quite loyal to my new people. When hearing loud voices, I can startle and get a little jumpy. Sometimes the sounds of cars is scary. So hoping you can reassure me on walks with cars around. Having been in the war zone here, it is going to take some settling learnjng, I am no longer in danger. Now I enjoy playing and though a bit shy, am friendly once I have time to get over the anxiousness of meeting someone new. In fact, I am cuddly and affectionate. Also, I tend to be a fairly calm albeit curious girl. You'll find me a bright pup with an amusing personality to keep you smiling.I take walks on a leash, very well I might add. Though active, I am not hyper at all. I get along with my doggie friends, but not always with the kitties. I haven't had interactions with children.Energy Level: moderate to moderate-highI get along with:Dogs: yesCats: NoKids: unknownFears: Loud voices can startle me. Please be patient assisting me in my transition.Training:Leash skills: yes. Please be prepared to train continue training.House trained: yes. Please help me learn where to go in my new home.Health notes:I have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. My adoption fee is $800.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. [MID-EAST] *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordetella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East. [TURKEY] *Dogs receive 4D SNAP tests - which include: Heartworm, Ehrlichiosis, Leishmania and Anaplasmosis. ##2038333##
