Adopt Buneary/ASH a Red Lionhead / Dwarf / Mixed (short coat) rabbit in

Location:
Belleville, ON
Description:

Meet A2000100122!A2000100122 and her siblings arrived at HSHPE in March 2024. They were just 6 weeks old when they were surrendered for adoption and will be looking for foster to adopt homes until they are old enough to be fixed and vaccinated. They are smaller sized mix rabbits with longer, fluffy coats that will require moderate grooming to maintain. Unmaintained coats develop matting which is very painful and can cause skin infections.Like all young rabbits, they still have a lot of learning to do and manners to master! Bunny proofing is essential when bringing a rabbit into your home and this is especially true with juvenile rabbits. Bunny proofing keeps both your belongings and your new family member safe. Like all rabbits in HSHPE care, A2000100122 is provided with a litter box to work on litter training while waiting for her forever home. Her litter habits will continue to improve as she ages and after she is spayed (this procedure is included in her adoption fee!). For now, she will require some patience as she is still learning!Despite her small size, A2000100122 will require a large living space (an exercise pen is ideal) and plenty of time outside of her enclosure to exercise and play. Rabbits will not thrive if left in a small cage, this is a cruel and sad existence that often creates behavioural and medical issues. Providing your new companion attention, exercise, enrichment items, hideouts and toys will ensure they live a happy, healthy, and mentally stimulating life.As always, please do your research on rabbit behaviour, health, nutrition, and general care before applying to adopt. Rabbits are considered exotic pets that require specialized care (including vet care!) and live 10+ years if properly cared for. They make amazing companions but are not low maintenance or starter pets. Please visit HSHPE during open hours to spend some time with A2000100122 or call 613-968-XXXX for more information! Staff would be happy to discuss the adoption or foster care application process! All rabbit adoption fees include spay/neuter surgery, RHDV1 and RHDV2 vaccine, and a gift card from Ren's Pets!
