Cheddar is a 6-10mo black lab cross, fostered in Hamilton. He is just over 50 lbs. He's not done growing - he'll be a big boy!. Cheddar is a fun-loving ball of floppy, tumbling cuddles, and a jolly guy who is always wagging his tail and by extension his entire back half. He loves running around the yard, playing with people, and dogs. And chewing up whatever he can get his teeth on - toys, crocs, etc. He’s good with other dogs and will appreciate a home with another dog. Once comfortable in his home, he can get a bit territorial about "his space" (i.e. his street, his home, his driveway) when a new dog is approaching. The same can be said for new people in his home. But with lots of treats, he quickly warms up. He'll need some help to learn that it is okay to make new friends.He’s also cat-tested and while he annoys them by trying to play, he understands when it’s time to back off. He is not tested with young children, but did very well with older adult houseguests.Food and praise (but especially food) motivate him, so he is very trainable. He has mastered potty training, with a very rare accident. He is working on leash training to be less of a puller. He can be a little stubborn and when he thinks it’s time to turn around, he will sit down in silent protest.At the end of the day, he loves a good cuddle on the couch or in bed and he is starting to get really good at sleeping in his crate. Being alone is hard for such a social guy and he will need help working on that.
